Online Wheelchair Chess Tournament 2020

Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation organized its first sport "Online Wheelchair Chess Tournament 2020" on 25-26 July 2020. In this tournament, 10 wheelchair chess players participated from different districts of Bangladesh. Those players were divided into two groups. On July 25, at the end of the Round Robin League, out of the two groups, a total of four reached the semi-finals, with the two highest point achievers from each group.

At the end of the Semi-finals on July 26, the final was held between Helal from Patuakhali, the winner of Semi-final 1 and Arif from Sherpur, the winner of Semi-final 2. In the final round,Arif became the champion and Helal became the runner-up of the tournament.

The entire game was broadcast on the Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation's official Facebook page. Radio Partner of the tournament was Radio Bhoomi 92.8 FM. In the closing ceremony, Wheelchair Athlete Noor Nahian, the founding president of Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation, Mahbub Alam, Co-ordinator of Radio Bhoomi 92.8 FM, Hon'ble Advisor of Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation, Deputy Director of Bangla Academy, Dr. Aminur Rahman Sultan, Arif, Champion and Helal, Runner-up joined the Facebook Live Session.
